We have ways of making you practise during the summer holidays…
Dancer pose on the Isle of Seil
Summer has officially arrived, the sun is out, schools have broken up and many of us are thinking of our holidays...but what concerns me, is what about your yoga practise?!
So, whilst Inside Out takes it’s summer break I thought I’d better give you some ideas to keep you on the yoga path until September.
First thing to remember, is that you don’t need to do a full class type session to feel the benefit. Just 10 minutes a day will keep you flexible, relaxed or energised and your core toned. What’s your favourite posture that we do in class, what makes you feel good? That’s a great place to start.
Holidays are the perfect time to get into some yoga. Practising outside is so rejuvenating, try some yoga on your balcony, on the beach, at the top of the hill you’ve climbed or in your garden if you are staying at home.
Start by standing in the Mountain pose (Tadasana) and see where your body takes you. Take the time to be still and I promise it will move you just perfectly.
Really struggling for what to practise? We sell a range of Dru DVD’s, CD’s and books to guide and inspire you and because we only sell Dru products you should recognise at least some of the postures and sequences. Some of the themes covered include meditation, back care, immunity boosting, energising and various time length guided sessions.
Sponsored Yoga Challenge
Start practising sun sequence. I’m going to be giving you details about this a bit later on, but we’ve a really exciting Dru day coming up, raising money for Dru charitable activities and we’re going to be doing a sponsored 108 rounds of Sun sequence (surya namaskara). Guaranteed to help you tone up, improve flexibility and leave you bursting with energy.
Yoga Pose Competition
Now, it’s not that I don’t believe you when you tell me that you’ve been practising between classes…however, this year I’d like photographic evidence! Inside Out is launching it’s first competition!!
I want snaps of you in your favourite yoga pose, outside on your holiday or staycation. We’re going to put them all up on an album on our Facebook page where our our page fans can vote for the winner by simply ‘Liking’ the entry they like the best. The photograph with the most ‘Likes’ by the closing date of September 30th, is the winner. You can submit up to 5 entries. And as if that’s not exciting enough – there’ll be a prize!
So, happy snapping, have a great Summer, I’m off now to start planning our Autumn term, lots of lovely yoga planned for September, can’t wait to share it with you all. Ix
