Wellbeing in Schools
Happy New Year!

Hope you are all well and keeping on track with your resolutions.
I had a lovely start to the new year when I took part in a wellbeing day which was run by the senior team for its staff at the Dewsbury school Westborough High School.
Their day focussed on encouraging all staff to take care of themselves. What a fantastic way to kick off 2012?
The school had organised a wide range of activities and seminars across a full day just as the new 2012 term kicked off, which encouraged people to take control of their own health and wellbeing. I took a super group of staff members through a yoga programme which focused on the management of stress and releasing muscular tension, particularly in the neck and back.
I was very much struck by the positive attitude of both the school, as an organisation, and it’s staff. They welcomed all the information on offer and were keen to find out more about how to look after themselves and more importantly, recognising the benefits that doing so, has for everyone.
The school benefits by reducing its staff absenteeism rate and promotes more effective working practices whilst the pupils benefit from continuity of teaching and ultimately the staff are healthier and happier – everyone’s a winner!
If you would like to know more about how to take care of yourself naturally, please do get in touch.
Wishing you all a healthy and peaceful new year. Ix
