Meet Isabel, the owner of Inside Out and our lead tutor.

In order to get a feeling what Isabel is all about, we asked her a few questions. Here’s what she had to say:

  1. How long have you been practising yoga and how long have you been teaching?
    I’ve been practicing yoga for 25 years, teaching it for 17 years and for the last 10 years have been teaching other yoga teachers.
  2. What first got you into yoga?
    I went to class with a friend who’d been advised to try yoga to ease her anxiety, from then on I was hooked – it took the pain out of my back.
  3. What is your favourite yoga pose or practice?
    Probably ‘Fish’, ‘Seated Spinal Twist’ for my poses and as a practice, our foundation Dru Yoga meditation is my favourite. I’m thoroughly absorbed by stretches especially ones that I can feel doing me good.
  4. …and which is your least favourite?
    I would say probably ‘Sitting forward bend’ as I find it a bit of a challenge! I do it most days though, cos I know it does me good!
  5. Any other interests or hobbies?
    I like drawing, reading, writing and dog walking.
  6. Can you describe one of your yoga classes in three words?
    Fun, practical and effective.
  7. Do you have any advice for someone thinking about trying Dru Yoga for the first time?
    I would say, don’t think about it, just do it! After all, you’ll always come up with reasons & excuses why ‘now’ isn’t a good time.
